Nagpur: Revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday said a dedicated budget head would be created for the four-phase redevelopment of Deekshabhoomi during the upcoming Winter Assembly Session, with Rs 12 crore already allocated for the project.Reviewing the preliminary blueprint prepared by Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA), Bawankule said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had directed him to create a separate budget head for the project.The preliminary blueprint will be circulated among Deekshabhoomi Trust members and local public representatives, including Ramtek MP Shyam Barve, for their suggestions. Stakeholders will have 15 days to submit their feedback, after which the plan will be finalised, Bawankule said.The final blueprint is expected to be ready by Oct 5. The district-level committee will meet on Oct 7 or 8, followed by a meeting of the state-level high-powered committee later that month. The proposal will then be placed before the committee headed by chief minister for approval.Bawankule said additional funds would be provided based on the project’s requirements. Phases 1 and 2 will focus on works on land already available, while phases 3 and 4 will require additional land owned by the health department and central govt.
