Chandrapur: Two persons were killed and nine others injured in three separate lightning strike incidents across Chandrapur district on Thursday afternoon, as thunderstorms and rain swept parts of the district.In Check Thanewasna village of Pombhurna taluka, 55-year-old farmer Keshav Gudi was returning home with wife Vaishali (45) after working in their field when lightning struck near a farm owned by Rishi Alam. Keshav died on the spot, while Vaishali suffered serious injuries. She was initially rushed to Pombhurna rural hospital and later shifted to the district hospital in Chandrapur as her condition turned critical.In Usarala village of Mul taluka, a shepherd, Deepak Madavi (35), who had taken cattle out for grazing, was killed after being struck by lightning during the sudden rain.Eight women were injured in another lightning strike in the fields of Bardkinhi in Bramhapuri taluka. Manisha Thakare (22) suffered serious injuries in the incident. Villagers rushed the injured to Armori sub-district hospital in neighbouring Gadchiroli district. Seven women are undergoing treatment there, while Thakare is being treated at a private hospital in Bramhapuri.
