Srinagar, Sep 16: The Haj Committee of India (HCoI) has extended the deadline for completion of primary medical screening and uploading of relevant documents for provisionally selected pilgrims for Haj 2027 till September 30.
According to a latest circular issued by the HCoI, the last date for completion of Primary Medical Screening (Stage-I) and submission as well as uploading of prescribed documents has been extended from September 15 to September 30, 2026.
The Committee said all provisionally selected pilgrims who have not yet completed the prescribed Stage-I medical screening should undergo the examination at a government healthcare facility by a Government Allopathic Medical Officer, along with the prescribed diagnostic investigations.
The pilgrims have been asked to obtain the Fitness Certificate in the prescribed Primary Medical Screening and Fitness Certificate Proforma enclosed with the earlier circular issued on September 1.
The HCoI said NRI pilgrims may undergo medical screening in their country of current residence, preferably through a government health facility.
Following the medical screening, pilgrims are required to upload the prescribed documents on the HCoI portal or submit physical copies to their respective State/UT Haj Committees on or before October 1, 2026.
The documents include the Primary Medical Screening and Fitness Certificate and a copy of the pay-in-slip or online payment receipt.
The Committee has also advised pilgrims to keep the original medical screening and fitness certificate, along with all investigation reports, in safe custody. These documents will be required at the time of Stage-II medical screening and vaccination, the circular reads.
The circular further stated that the candidature of a pilgrim found medically unfit as per the prescribed fitness criteria shall be cancelled, with the amount deposited by the pilgrim refunded as per applicable provisions.
However, pilgrims found to have concealed or furnished false information regarding their health or medical condition may face action, including forfeiture of the deposited amount and prosecution, as per the applicable policy.
The State and UT Haj Committees have been directed to coordinate with all concerned agencies and complete the process in a time-bound manner. They have also been asked to liaise with government healthcare facilities, maintain proper records of the screening process and promptly report cases of medically unfit pilgrims to the Haj Committee of India.
