Kanchan Sinha has joined Kochhar & Co. as a partner. Prior to joining this, Sinha was a partner at JSA Advocates & Solicitors.
Sinha brings over 21 years of experience advising on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. Her practice spans mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, foreign investments, business transfers and cross-border transactions across multiple sectors.
Her transactional experience also includes advising on corporate structuring and commercial arrangements, with her practice covering both law-firm and in-house mandates.
Sinha has significant experience working with corporates, having previously held senior legal roles with Sembcorp Green Infra and Acme Solar. In her previous career, Sinha has served as Vice President – Legal, focusing on hydrogen and M&A projects at Sembcorp Industries.
Her earlier law-firm experience includes a partnership at Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, where she spent more than eight years. Prior to that, she was associated with the erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas for over a decade.
Sinha’s practice has covered general corporate and commercial advisory work, including advising clients on commercial and services agreements, distribution arrangements, employment-related matters, foreign investment requirements, regulatory issues and business operations.
Sinha’s matters have also included advising on the launch and operation of businesses, joint ventures and consortium arrangements, as well as transactions involving sectors such as infrastructure, energy, telecom, technology, media and entertainment.
Her move to Kochhar & Co. marks a return to private practice after her recent in-house stints and her tenure at JSA, adding a senior corporate and transactional practitioner to the firm’s partnership.
