Fazilka: An explosion was reported on the premises of the Jalalabad City police station in Punjab’s Fazilka district around 2am on Sunday.Fazilka superintendent of police Satinder Kumar said the cause of the blast would only be revealed once the forensic report was available. He said the police were thoroughly investigating every aspect of the case.Such was the intensity of the blast that the windows of two old cars parked inside the station were shattered.No loss of life has been reported. At the time of the explosion, a protest against power outages was underway in the area.On receiving information about the incident, senior police officers reached the scene. As a security measure, police have sealed the entire area. A forensic team has been summoned to collect evidence, while the police are scrutinising footage from CCTV cameras installed at the station and in surrounding areas.The SP appealed to the public not to panic or pay heed to rumours. He added details would be shared only after the investigation was concluded.
