Bokaro: The district judiciary has tightened the bail procedure, making verification of sureties and bailers mandatory before bail bonds are confirmed.In an office order, the principal district and sessions judge, Bokaro, directed all courts in the judgeship to affix photographs of sureties and bailers on bail bonds. Their documents must also be sent to the police stations concerned for verification.Police stations have been instructed to submit verification reports within one week of receiving the documents. The move is aimed at ensuring that people standing surety for accused persons are properly verified and at preventing misuse of the bail process.Under the revised procedure, courts will accept bail bonds provisionally for one week. The bonds will be confirmed only after the court receives a proper verification report from the police station concerned.The presidents and general secretaries of the Bar associations in Bokaro and Tenughat have been asked to inform advocates about the new procedure and ensure compliance.Copies of the order have also been sent to all courts in Bokaro and Tenughat, the Bokaro SP and other judicial authorities for necessary action.
