Hazaribag: Pragya Kendra and common service centre (CSC) operators in Chatra district were on Friday directed to strictly follow guidelines to ensure transparency during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.The directions were issued at an online meet convened on the instructions of chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar and Chatra district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Ravi Anand. Deputy election officer Ravindra Kumar chaired the meeting and briefed the operators on online applications, document scrutiny and verification procedures.Kumar said tampering with documents, submitting forged papers or presenting invalid documents as genuine would not be tolerated. Operators were instructed to handle the 2003 electoral roll with care and use records only as prescribed, without making any unauthorised changes or creating fraudulent entries.Officials also warned against the inclusion of foreign nationals in electoral rolls. Applications supported by suspicious or apparently forged documents should not be uploaded and must be immediately reported to the official concerned, they said.The meeting also stressed the need for careful verification of land records and genealogical or family lists. Applications containing such lists along with land records should be uploaded only after verification by the concerned circle officer.Kumar said legal action under relevant provisions of BNS would be initiated against anyone found involved in irregularities, fraud or violations of election-related instructions. He urged operators to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the exercise.
