Kota: City police detained a youth Thursday in connection with allegations of stalking a minor coaching student for several days, police said.The girl’s parents lodged a complaint at Borekheda police station, alleging that occupants of a white Creta and a black Thar had been following their daughter for four to five days while she travelled between her home and coaching classes.According to the complaint, an occupant of a car allegedly grabbed the girl’s hand and tried to pull her inside the vehicle Monday. She managed to break free, noted the vehicle’s registration number and reached home, where she told her parents about the incident.The girl was so frightened that she wore her father’s clothes over her coaching uniform while going to class on Tuesday, according to the complaint. When family members went to pick her up after class, they spotted the black Thar parked nearby. They tried to stop the vehicle, but its driver allegedly sped away.Locals later examined CCTV footage from the area and traced the vehicle to a nearby colony. When they tried to catch the driver Wednesday, he allegedly attempted to run them over before fleeing.DSP Himanshu Singh said a youth had been detained in connection with the case and was being questioned. He clarified that the case involved persistent stalking and not an attempted kidnapping.The DSP said further details about the accused would be released later.
