Hazaribag: Hazaribag administration is preparing designated vending zones across the city to give street vendors organised spaces and reduce traffic congestion. Deputy commissioner Hemant Sati and municipal commissioner Om Prakash Gupta inspected the old Collectorate premises on Wednesday to identify a suitable site. Officials are also considering several small vending markets in different areas. The initiative seeks a long-term answer to roadside encroachment without hurting vendors’ livelihoods, as roadside stalls disrupt traffic while eviction drives affect incomes. Sati said protecting street vendors’ livelihoods while improving the city’s traffic system was essential, adding that action would soon begin. Vendors welcomed the move.
