Ramgarh: Police on Wednesday held an awareness programme at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Vidyalaya in West Bokaro under Mandu block, sensitising students about drug abuse, child protection laws and cyber safety.The programme was part of a districtwide awareness campaign launched by Ramgarh police among students on Aug 31, on the directives of SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat.Police officers explained how drug addiction can harm lives and urged students to stay away from drugs while also spreading awareness among others. They briefed students on the Pocso Act, which deals with sexual offences against children, and taught them about good touch and bad touch.Students were advised to immediately inform their parents or teachers if they face any uncomfortable situation. Police also cautioned them against clicking unknown links, sharing personal information or OTPs, and engaging in unsafe online gaming.West Bokaro outpost officer in-charge Deepak Kumar said students were also informed about ‘Dial 112’ for emergency police assistance.
