Jaipur: With Gurjar, Rebari and Gadiya Lohar groups pressing Rajasthan to issue Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT) certificates, social justice and empowerment minister Avinash Gehlot said Monday the state has already started the process and issued nearly 68,000 certificates.Gehlot said the remaining certificates will be awarded after the ongoing municipal and upcoming panchayat elections. The department also issues land titles through camps. “So far, around 68,000 certificates have been issued to DNTs in these camps, and around 23,000 land pattas have been issued to them,” Gehlot told TOI.Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti president Vijay Bainsla urged Gehlot to speed up issuance, citing action in other states and a recent direction in Delhi.Bainsla also pointed out that certificates have not been issued to Gurjar, Rebari, Gadiya Lohar, Jogi and other DNT communities because they are not included in the central DNT/NT/SNT list, limiting access to the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNT Communities (SEED).In a letter to Gehlot, Bainsla cited the 2015 National Commission for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes headed by Bikhu Ramji Idate, whose report was released in Dec 2017 and lists nomadic and semi-nomadic communities in Rajasthan. He said Rajasthan had recommended additions to the central list in Nov 2017, and cited the 2017 Rajasthan State Backward Class Commission report led by Justice G R Goyal recognising the same communities.
