Patna: The dreams, disappointments and daily struggles of two aspiring actors trying to break into Mumbai’s film industry took centre stage as ‘Kam Se Kam Coffee To Achchi Hai’ was presented at the House of Variety in Patna on Sunday.The 90-minute Hindi play, presented by Chakravyu Performing Arts, Mumbai, as part of the Shivendra Sinha Theatre Festival 2026, was written by Gaurav Ambbare and directed by Rayana Pandey.Set in Mumbai’s Aram Nagar, the play revolves around two aspiring actors sharing a cramped rented room while chasing their dream of a breakthrough. Burdened by unpaid rent, borrowed clothes and financial uncertainty, the duo continue to grapple with rejection and mounting pressure from their families to abandon acting and pursue a more secure life.Beyond their personal struggles, the play explores the realities of an industry where success, wealth and recognition often overshadow artistic merit. Through its narrative, it raises questions about the challenges faced by those attempting to build careers in the performing arts.The performances effectively captured the emotional highs and lows of the protagonists, from hope and excitement to frustration and despair. The simple set of a shabby room reflected their struggles, while a wooden mirror frame symbolised their dream of becoming film stars.The actors received appreciation for their expressive performances, dialogue delivery and stage presence.
