Bhiwani: A school teacher was found dead on the premises of a school in Haryana’s Bhiwani on Wednesday, prompting police to launch an investigation. A forensic team was called to the spot and collected samples from the scene. Police are awaiting the postmortem and forensic reports before deciding on further action.The incident took place at Shrimati Phoolan Devi Kanya Senior Secondary School near Parshuram Gate in Bhiwani. According to Dinod Gate police post in charge Rajesh, police received information about the teacher’s death and immediately reached the school to investigate.According to the preliminary investigation, the teacher had allegedly consumed a poisonous substance. Police also recovered a bottle from the spot. The teacher was later found dead in one of the rooms located on the school’s rooftop.Police said the teacher had arrived at the school as usual on Wednesday morning and had taken his class. He later went to one of the rooms on the rooftop, where he was subsequently found dead.The deceased has been identified as Sawan, a resident of New Bharat Nagar in Bhiwani. He was around 35 years old and worked as a teacher. According to the information available, he was married and had a child who was born around six months ago.After receiving information about the incident, police informed the family and recorded the statements of the relatives. Based on their statements, police have so far initiated inquest proceedings.Police called a forensic team to examine the scene. The team collected several samples from the spot and sent them for examination.The body was sent to a hospital for postmortem. Police said the cause and circumstances surrounding the death would become clearer after the postmortem and forensic reports are received.Dinod Gate police post in charge Rajesh said the investigation was underway and relevant aspects were being examined. He said further action would be taken after the postmortem and forensic reports were received.Police have not yet confirmed the reason behind the teacher’s death.
