Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Kanpur Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), IIT Kanpur, organised the Annual Prof N K Batra Metals & Materials Quiz 2026 at IIT Kanpur.The competition brought together 24 teams from 12 schools across Kanpur, with students of Classes XI and XII participating. The competition featured multiple rounds, with the preliminary stage narrowing the field to eight teams. Subsequent rounds selected the final four teams before narrowing the contest to two finalists for the grand finale. Dhananjay Mishra and Virat Pratap Singh of UP Kirana Seva Samiti Vidyalaya, Kanpur, emerged winners, while Atharva Tripathi and Virat Mishra finished runners-up.The top two teams will represent the IIM Kanpur Chapter at the Brahm Prakash Memorial Materials Quiz 2026 (BMMMQ 2026), scheduled to be held on Sept 18 at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.
