Patna: Ananya Patel, Veera Kumari and Srishti Singh emerged as the top performers in the senior, sub-senior and junior categories respectively at a mehndi competition organised at Jesus and Mary Academy. The event aimed to encourage creativity among students and strengthen their connection with Indian cultural traditions.In the senior category, Mahi Priya secured second place, while Aaradhya and Anokhi Kumari jointly finished third. In the sub-senior category, Paridhi Jaiswal and Aaradhya Ranjan secured second and third positions, respectively, while Vaibhav Kumar received a consolation prize. In the junior category, Shruti Kumari won second place, while Ruhi Raj and Jagrati Tiwari jointly secured third. Manas and Varun Bhargava received consolation prizes.Students participated enthusiastically, presenting traditional and contemporary mehndi designs. The entries were judged on creativity, neatness, detailing, beauty and presentation. The jury included Rotary Patna City Samrat president Abhishek Raj, secretary Ram Kumar, vice-president Kavita Arora and Ruchita Nawadia.Principal Pooja N Sharma said such activities help nurture students’ hidden talents and boost their confidence. The event concluded in a cheerful atmosphere.MoU signed to promote mental healthA N College has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Equity Foundation – A Forum for Woman & Child to promote mental health and emotional well-being among students, teachers and staff. The agreement came into effect on August 18, 2026.Equity Foundation executive director Nina Srivastava and college principal Ratna Amrit signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.Under the agreement, a mental health counselling centre will be established on the college campus to provide accessible, confidential and professional psychological counselling. The centre will offer individual counselling, psychological first aid during crises, stress-management and life-skills programmes, mental health awareness campaigns and faculty sensitisation initiatives.The initiative will also focus on early identification of mental health concerns and timely intervention while creating a supportive and stigma-free campus environment. Equity Foundation will provide qualified mental health professionals and support awareness and capacity-building activities, while the college will provide suitable space and administrative assistance. The two institutions will review the centre’s functioning at least every six months.
