Times News NetworkKanpur: The route from Sarsaiya Ghat to the Green Park Stadium turned into a sea on Wednesday morning as thousands of people joined the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organised under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.With the tricolour fluttering in their hands, the people’s representatives, district administration officials, students, youth, security personnel, government employees and residents marched together, conveying a message of national unity and integrity.The spirited procession reverberated with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and slogans paying tribute to freedom fighters. Students and scout band members added to the fervour by playing patriotic tunes, drawing enthusiastic responses from people along the route.MLAs Surendra Maithani, Saroj Kureel and Neelima Katiyar, district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh, chief development officer Abhinav J Jain and trainee IAS officer Sandeep Kumar were among those who participated in the yatra.A large number of students, ITBP and other security personnel, NCC cadets, scouts, employees of various departments and residents joined the procession, turning it into a grand public celebration.A tableau depicting ‘Bharat Mata’ was one of the major attractions. Female students portrayed them as scientists, lawyers, police personnel and administrators alongside Bharat Mata. The tableau showcased India’s journey from the First War of Independence in 1857 to the adoption of the Constitution in 1950 and its subsequent transformation towards a ‘Developed India’.The presentation highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the country’s progress in the modern era.DM Jitendra Pratap Singh said the tricolour symbolised the nation’s pride, self-respect and unity. He appealed to the residents to hoist the national flag at their homes, business establishments and institutions with due respect and ensure widespread participation in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.The yatra culminated at the Green Park Stadium. The participants collectively sang ‘Vande Mataram’ and the National Anthem.
