Chennai: Ice House police arrested Chennai-based businessman and stock market consultant P R Sundar in Bengaluru on Thursday in connection with a sexual harassment case registered on a complaint filed by a woman news anchor employed with a private television channel. Police said to were on to trace his wife, as she too was also booked in the case.According to police, the complainant became acquainted with Sundar after approaching him for a job opportunity in 2024. She claimed that he later invited her to his residence in Pattinapakkam, where he behaved inappropriately. She further stated that she informed his wife about the incident, but she ignored it.The anchor said Sundar later summoned her to his office on the pretext of apologising, confined her in a room for nearly three hours, sexually harassed her and threatened her.Based on her complaint, Ice House police registered a case under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to sexual harassment, offences against women and criminal intimidation. After tracing Sundar to Bengaluru, a special police team arrested him with the assistance of Karnataka police. He was brought to Chennai on Thursday evening by road and further investigations are on.
