Srinagar, Aug 01: In compliance with Article 323(2) of the Constitution of India, the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Saturday submitted its 67th Annual Report for the year 2025-26 to Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan Srinagar, highlighting a year marked by significant administrative reforms, accelerated selection timelines, and robust recruitment drives across key administrative and judicial cadres in the Union Territory.
The delegation, led by JKPSC Chairman Shri Arun Kumar Choudhary, included Members Dr Rajiv Singh and Shri Asaf Mehmood Sagar, and Secretary Shri Bashir Ahmad Dar. The Lieutenant Governor commended the JKPSC’s commitment to fairness and speed while upholding meritocracy and integrity throughout the recruitment drive.
Key Highlights of the Annual Report 2025-26:
– Selections: Against 1,263 posts referred, the Commission received 94,546 applications and made 1,152 selections, including selections for Jammu Kashmir Administrative Service, Jammu Kashmir Police Service, Jammu Kashmir Account Service, Junior Judges in the Subordinate Judiciary (39 posts), and faculty posts in various Medical Colleges, Degree Colleges, and other Gazetted level posts.
– Examinations: The Commission conducted 52 written tests/Preliminary examinations and 02 Mains examinations.
– Departmental Promotions: The Commission held 29 Departmental Promotion Committee meetings and cleared 508 officers for promotion.
– Departmental Examinations: The Commission conducted 03 departmental examinations with 813 candidates appearing.
– Rule Making: The Commission gave its assent to the recruitment rules of 02 departments.
Administrative Reforms and Transparency Measures:
– Adoption of 100% written-examination-based recruitment to ensure transparency in the overall recruitment process.
– Switchover to the “On-Screen Evaluation” system to ensure error-free evaluation and avoid delays in the selection process.
– Introduction of the system of informing candidates about examinations and interviews through SMS service.
The report outlines the achievements of the Commission, constitutional provisions, selections made, DPC meetings held, promotions effected, and recruitment rules approved by departments.
