Vadodara: An 11-year-old girl drowned while her two siblings were rescued after the three fell into a canal near the superintendent of police’s office at Borsad Chowkdi in Anand city on Friday.According to police, a woman from Amiyad village in Borsad taluka had come to the SP office with her three children to submit a complaint regarding the theft of important documents, including Aadhaar cards.As they were passing by the canal overflowing with rainwater near the SP office, all three children accidentally slipped into the water.Hearing the mother’s cries for help, local residents and police personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. They managed to pull out a 13-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy safely.The third child, identified as Priya Solanki (11), was rescued by Anand fire brigade and rushed to Anand General Hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.Anand town police have registered a case of accidental death.
