New Delhi: A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly murdering a 45-year-old man following a trivial verbal altercation after the victim accidentally brushed against him at a bus stand near Safdarjung Hospital in south Delhi Friday night.The deceased was identified as Manoj Singh, a native of Bihar’s Nawada district. He worked with a clothing hawker near Safdarjung Hospital and was the sole breadwinner for his family, comprising his wife and four children.According to police, information about a quarrel near Gate No. 3 of the AIIMS metro station on Aurobindo Marg was received around 10.30 pm.By the time police reached the spot, the accused, identified as 40-year-old Lokesh, a resident of Taimur Nagar in New Friends Colony, had already been overpowered by members of the public and handed over to the police.

Manoj was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital where doctors declared him dead during treatment. The body was preserved for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.A case was registered under Section 103 (murder) of BNS at Hauz Khas police station. The accused was arrested.
