Nagpur: After widespread rain across Vidarbha, monsoon activity is likely to take a brief pause, with no significant rainfall expected in Nagpur and most parts of the region till July 29, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed. Isolated light showers are likely at a few places. The lull is due to weakening of favourable monsoon systems over central India. Day temperatures are likely to rise gradually over the next few days, while humid conditions are expected to persist.Rain is likely to pick up again from July 30, with widespread showers and isolated heavy rain expected across Vidarbha. The fresh spell is likely to be triggered by weather systems forming over Bay of Bengal, which are expected to strengthen monsoon currents over central India.
