Several Long-Distance Trains DivertedVadodara: Train services on the busy Mumbai-Delhi route resumed on Friday evening after Western Railway restored operations. Rail traffic was severely affected for two days after heavy rainfall lashed South Gujarat, leading to waterlogging on the tracks.Before normal services resumed, several trains were cancelled, diverted and short-terminated on Friday, affecting passengers travelling to and from Vadodara.Among the trains cancelled on Friday were the Surat-Vadodara Memu, Bandra Terminus-Bhuj Superfast Express and Vadodara-Valsad Intercity Express, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Shatabdi Express, Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express, Gujarat Queen Express, Karnavati Express and Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Double Decker Express.Several long-distance trains, including the Barmer-Yesvantpur Express, Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express, Ajmer-Mysore Express, Gandhidham-Nagercoil Express, Ahmedabad-Mangaluru Special and Ajmer-Daund Superfast Express were diverted via the Surat-Paldhi-Jalgaon route to bypass the affected section.Some services were also short-terminated. The Jhansi-Bandra Terminus Special and Bhiwani-Bandra Terminus Special were terminated at Ratlam, while the Bhiwani-Mumbai Central Special was terminated at Dahod.Western Railway said operations on both the up and down lines had been restored. While train movement normalised, some services may continue to experience residual delays as schedules are brought back on track, it added.
