Ara: Bhojpur police on Wednesday claimed to have foiled alleged plans by two criminals to commit major crimes in separate parts of the district and arrested both with illegal firearms.In a statement issued by the Bhojpur SP office, police said the accused were apprehended in separate operations conducted under Krishnagarh and Udwantnagar police station areas.In the first case, police arrested Ajit Kumar alias Golu from Kewatiya village under Krishnagarh police station area. A country-made pistol, one live cartridge and four motorcycles were seized from his possession.In another operation, acting on a tip-off, Udwantnagar police arrested Manoranjan Kumar from Devariya village. A country-made pistol was recovered from him, police said. Police claimed both accused were allegedly planning to commit serious crimes in their respective areas.Cases have been registered under the Arms Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Krishnagarh and Udwantnagar police stations. Further investigation is underway, police added.
