Hyderabad: Two persons died and another was injured during the early hours of Friday when an unidentified truck rammed into a parked van with goats near Exit-8 at Keesara on the Outer Ring Road (ORR).According to Keesara inspector A Anjaneyulu, goat sellers Md Rasheed, 40, and Md Ghouse, of Papannapet in Medak district, along with their driver, Markonda Ramulu, 60, were transporting goats from Medak to Chengicherla in a cargo van when the mishap occurred.Police said the driver, Ramulu, felt drowsy at around 2:30 am and pulled over the vehicle to the roadside to rest. While Ramulu and Rasheed stepped out to wash their faces, Ghouse remained inside the driver’s cabin. “Moments later, an unidentified truck coming from behind at a high speed crashed into the parked van and dragged it for nearly 500 metres along the road. Rasheed and Ramulu, who were in front of the van, died at the spot, while Ghouse suffered injuries. Several goats in the van were also killed,” the inspector said.On a complaint of the victim’s family members, Keesara police registered a case against the unidentified truck driver under Section 106(1) (causing death due to negligence) and 125(a) (causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS.
