Prayagraj: An FIR was filed against a woman principal at a primary school in Kaushambi district after she was found sitting in a class with a knife and a cleaver in her hands.The principal claimed she carried the knife and the cleaver for self-defence.Following the incident, an assistant teacher at the school lodged an FIR against the principal at Saini police station of Kaushambi district under the Arms Act, asserting that the incident “terrified the students as well as the school staff”.In the FIR, the teacher alleged that the principal was mentally unstable and had misbehaved with children and staff on Thursday. “On Friday, she brought a knife and a cleaver to school and was spotted carrying them in her hands in the classroom,” he said.The principal claimed that she did not hit anyone but if anyone abused or harassed her, she would teach a lesson to that person. She said she was working at the school for the past 13 years and had suffered a lot.A senior police officer said, “Police are investigating the case and action would be initiated accordingly”. He said that the school’s staff members had informed the basic shiksha adhikari of Kaushambi and other officials about the incident.
