PUNE: Following an investigation into a molestation case involving a 14-year-old girl, Pune Police have arrested a robotics tutor, Arif Syed.Officials stated that the student had been attending tuition at the teacher’s home since her childhood.The incident reportedly occurred last month during a robotics session.After an FIR was filed, police apprehended the accused, who has been remanded to custody until July 17, news agency ANI reported.“An FIR regarding this has been received at the police station. He (Arif Syed) has been arrested, and police custody has been granted until July 17,” said Pune city police deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Milind Mohite.Regarding the timeline and public reaction, DCP Mohite added, “Nothing has come to light so far. Now that we have police custody, further investigation is underway. A video has surfaced; the public has tried to beat him up. That seems like a natural reaction.”The DCP also confirmed that there is no political connection to the case.Authorities noted that the investigation remains ongoing as they await further details.(With agency inputs)
