New Delhi: Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport have arrested one passenger for allegedly attempting to smuggle 1.5 kg of hydroponic weed that was concealed inside an aircraft arriving from Phuket.Acting on Advance Passenger Information System profiling, officers intercepted a passenger who arrived at Delhi Airport Monday.“Examination of the passenger’s baggage did not yield any suspicious material. However, the aircraft was subjected to a thorough search,” said an official.Six sealed packets containing a green-coloured substance were recovered from beneath the seats in Row 12 of the aircraft.On being enquired, the said passenger admitted to having concealing the packets inside the aircraft. The passenger has been arrested under section 43(b), while the substance recovered has been seized along with concealing material and packaging under section 43(a) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
