Kanpur: Cloud cover and sporadic rainfall brought relief to residents from intense heat and sultry weather on Tuesday, as the maximum temperature dropped by nearly 5 degrees Celsius.According to weather officials, the maximum temperature in the city wasrecorded at 33.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature remainedslightly high at 28.2 degrees Celsius.Although humidity levels remained high at 81 percent, cloudy skies andnorth-westerly winds blowing at speeds between 7.3 kmph and 15.8 kmphprovided much-needed comfort from humid conditions. Intermittent rainfallin several parts of the city during day time also helped improve theweather.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies alongwith light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms across alldistricts of the Kanpur division on Wednesday. During thisperiod, the maximum temperature is expected to remain between 32 degreesCelsius and 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely torange between 25 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius.For Kanpur Nagar, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall withthunderstorms. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 32 degreesCelsius, while the minimum temperature may remain close to 26 degreesCelsius with humidity levels around 65 percent.Weather expert Dr. SN Sunil Pandey of CSA University said that due to thepresence of atmospheric moisture and increased moisture flow, the Kanpurdivision is likely to witness cloudy skies and strong winds between July 8and July 9.He said there is also a possibility of isolated light rain or drizzleaccompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning in some areas.
