Times News NetworkKanpur: A 21-year-old girl died under suspicious circumstances in the Kalyanpur police station area of the city. Her family alleged negligence in her treatment by doctors at a private hospital.On Sunday at the postmortem house, family members accused the private hospital doctors of serious negligence and demanded action. They said Priyanka walked to the operation theatre on her own for surgery, but about an hour later doctors asked them to take her to another hospital. The deceased’s father is a vegetable vendor in the Kalyanpur area.According to the family, on July 1, Priyanka felt dizzy and fell at home, due to which her hand suffered fractures at two places. She was immediately admitted to a private hospital, where doctors advised surgery. The family alleged that at around 9:30 am on Saturday, Priyanka was sent to the OT for the operation and she walked there herself.The family said that about an hour later doctors told them that the patient’s condition was critical and she should be taken to another hospital. They alleged they then moved her from one hospital to another and went to four hospitals in succession, but none admitted her. Priyanka died before receiving treatment.The family accused the hospital management of negligence and demanded strict action. They said that if proper treatment had been provided on time, their daughter’s life could have been saved.On receiving the information, police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Police station in-charge Keshav Tiwari said the case would be investigated on the basis of the postmortem report and the family’s written complaint, and necessary legal action would be taken.
