Prayagraj: Nehru Gram Bharati University (NGBU), Prayagraj, has appointed eminent academician and researcher Prof Brij Bihari Tiwari as its new vice-chancellor. He has four decades of experience in higher education, engineering, research and academic administrationProf Tiwari completed his master’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Roorkee before earning a PhD from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow University, in 1993. During his distinguished career, he has served at several reputed institutions, including VBS Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, IIIT Allahabad, Prayagraj, and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.He has held several important positions, including dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, dean of students’ welfare, dean (research and development), member secretary of the Board of Management and director of academic institutions.After assuming office, Prof Tiwari addressed a welcome and introductory programme at the university’s Shashi Campus. He stressed the importance of academic excellence, quality research, innovation, discipline, transparency and collaborative governance.
