BENGALURU: A 23-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her jilted lover inside her residence in JC Nagar, Kurubarahalli-Mahalakshmipuram, in north Bengaluru, police said on Monday.The victim has been identified as Anjali. Police said the suspect, Rajeev, allegedly attacked her after she distanced herself from him over his criminal background.The incident occurred late Sunday night.Anjali and Rajeev had been in a relationship for the past two years. However, Rajeev was allegedly involved in several criminal cases, including robbery. Concerned about their daughter’s safety and future, Anjali’s parents had advised her to stay away from him.“Anjali and Rajeev were in relationship for last two years. However, Rajeev was involved in many criminal cases including robbery. Worried about their daughter, Anjali’s parents advised her to keep away from Rajeev ,” an investigating officer said. According to the police, Rajeev became furious after Anjali distanced herself and blocked his mobile number, following which he allegedly slit her throat.“As Anjali distanced herself and blocked Rajeev on her mobile, Rajeev became furious and slit Anjali on her throat,” an investigating officer added.
