Hyderabad: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Sunday mocked the BRS, saying that after changing its name from TRS to BRS, the party’s next avatar could well be “HRS” (Harish Rao Rashtra Samithi), in a swipe suggesting that former minister T Harish Rao was emerging as its dominant face.Addressing a public meeting in Nalgonda, Komatireddy said the Congress was a permanent political party unlike outfits that keep changing names. The minister also dismissed the BRS’ allegations of a scam in the proposed HAM road projects, saying KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao were making accusations even before tenders had been opened. He said work on the ₹13,006.27-crore road projects would begin from Monday and accused the opposition of trying to stall every major development initiative taken up by the Revanth Reddy govt.Komatireddy claimed the Congress govt had revived the Indiramma housing scheme, was supplying fine rice to ration card holders and was accelerating welfare and infrastructure projects across the state. He also accused the BRS of opposing the completion of the SLBC tunnel and the Musi rejuvenation project because they would benefit the people and politically strengthen the Congress.
