Kanpur: A purported video showing a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel allegedly assaulting and dragging his 65-year-old father with sticks on a road in Kanpur’s Maharajpur area has gone viral on social media. The elderly man has accused his son of repeatedly attacking him to force him to transfer family land in his name. The incident is reported to have taken place in Purwamir village under the Maharajpur police station limits on Friday. According to Ramashankar Gupta, 65, a retired home guard, his middle son, Sarvesh (30) pressures him to transfer his land whenever he comes home on leave. When he refuses, Sarvesh allegedly beats him with sticks.Ramashankar alleged that he has been visiting the local police station and outpost for the past three days, but has received no response. Showing injuries on his body, he claimed locals had intervened and rescued him during the latest assault. Maharajpur SHO Rajesh Kumar said police are aware of the allegations and have assigned a team to investigate the matter. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
