Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday assured housing for the homeless, financial assistance for the treatment of seriously ill patients and strict action against land grabbers while interacting with around 200 people during the Janata Darshan at Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur.He said every eligible and needy person would be covered under govt welfare schemes and directed officials to resolve public grievances with sensitivity and urgency.Responding to a woman’s plea for housing, the CM assured her that she would be provided a house under a govt scheme. Several people sought financial aid for medical treatment, to whom he reiterated that lack of funds would not be allowed to hinder healthcare. He assured assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in deserving cases and directed officials to facilitate treatment at AIIMS Gorakhpur or BRD Medical College wherever required.Taking a stern view of land-grabbing complaints, Yogi directed police to act strictly against encroachers and ensure that no innocent person was harassed during the process.The chief minister also interacted with children accompanying their families, distributed chocolates and encouraged them to attend school regularly.Earlier in the morning, Yogi fed roti and jaggery to cows at the gaushala of Gorakhnath Temple and instructed staff to ensure their proper care. He paid respects at the samadhi of his guru, Mahant Avaidyanath, and later spent time interacting with peacocks roaming the temple premises.
