Kanpur: Gohan police, in coordination with the SOG and the surveillance team, on Friday night conducted an encounter operation against two suspects linked to a goat theft case in Orai, Jalaun.According to police, the suspects, identified as Udal, 21, a resident of Nahili village, and Asif, 35, from Badanpur village, were wanted in connection with the goat theft case.They were apprehended on the road connecting Rasoolpur to the Bundelkhand Expressway. Police said the duo attempted to escape and opened fire at the police, prompting retaliatory firing by the cops.During the operation, one suspect sustained a gunshot wound, while the other was captured after being encircled.The cops also seized an illegal country-made pistol, two live cartridges, one spent cartridge shell, and a knife from their possession.
