After the attack, he informed the Bhadrawati Forest Department before admitting himself to the rural hospital for treatment. The incident comes just two days after a leopard reportedly killed a calf and a bullock behind Gautam Nagar and the Zilla Parishad School. Traces of pugmarks were also found in the area. With an increase in the continued leopard movements near residential areas, residents and local elected representatives have urged the forest department to immediately install a cage and capture the animal as a precautionary measure.
