Akola: A 40-year-old in-charge headmaster of a private Urdu primary school in Akola, Abdul Jameer Abdul Bashir, allegedly died by suicide on the school premises, leaving behind a two-page suicide note in which he blamed the school’s chairman, a suspended headmaster, and another teacher for his death.Based on the note and a complaint lodged by the brother of the deceased, Khadan police registered a case against three persons whom Bashir had named in his suicide note for alleged mental harassment and pressure. As per police, Bashir was found hanging on the school premises on Thursday morning. In the alleged suicide note recovered from the spot, Bashir has detailed a series of disputes and pressures faced by him.Bashir alleged that after differences arose between the school management and the then headmaster, the latter was suspended and the responsibility of in-charge headmaster was imposed upon him. He stated that the additional burden came at a time when he was already handling duties as a Booth Level Officer (BLO), significantly increasing his workload. The deceased also referred to a 13lakh loan obtained from a district cooperative bank, for which he had allegedly signed as a guarantor. According to the note, loan instalments remained unpaid after suspension of the headmaster, resulting in repeated notices from the bank. He claimed the mounting financial pressure and family responsibilities pushed him into severe mental distress.
