Shivamogga: Lokayukta police conducted an unexpected raid on the tahsildar’s office on Wednesday, heavily scrutinising the operations and administrative handling across various departments.The raid was triggered by persistent complaints from the public regarding severe delays in work, interference by unauthorised middlemen, and allegations of bribery. During the operation, the Lokayukta team focused on collecting details regarding the status of pending applications, the official process for issuing certificates, and overall file management.While inspecting the office branches, Lokayukta officials interacted with citizens who had come to the office to obtain govt services. They gathered firsthand information from them regarding local issues, particularly harassment by brokers and demands for illegal gratification.
