CHIKKAMAGALURU: A 35-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked with a machete by another man over a dispute involving a woman in Balehonnur, Chikkamagaluru district, on Tuesday.The victim, Arun Kumar of Hoovinahaklu, was allegedly attacked by Sheshagiri, a resident of Huigere near Magundi. Police said the victim, the accused and the woman involved are all daily-wage labourers.According to Balehonnur police, Arun Kumar had been in a relationship with the woman, who has been living separately from her husband, for the past year. He reportedly intended to marry her.Police said Sheshagiri had also become close to the woman, leading to tensions between the two men. Arun had allegedly asked the woman to end her friendship with Sheshagiri.On Tuesday, both Arun and Sheshagiri went to the woman’s house, where an argument broke out. During the confrontation, Sheshagiri allegedly attacked Arun with a machete, causing severe injuries.A case has been registered at Balehonnur police station and further investigation is underway.
