TMC MP Mahua Moitra launched a sharp defence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, dismissing challenges to her leadership as a “theatre of the absurd.” Moitra asserted that every TMC MLA and MP was elected under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership and party symbol. She also criticised the arrests of TMC leaders following the change in government, alleging political targeting and questioning the public humiliation of accused individuals before trial. The TMC MP challenged rivals to test their support through fresh elections.
