Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Monday asserted that his govt would continue its “Operation Clean” against criminals, saying he would not bow to any pressure. “Criminals will have to leave Bihar. No matter who supports them, we will make Bihar crime-free at any cost,” he said.Referring to the arrests made in connection with alleged irregularities in the NEET re-examination, he said, “I haven’t slept for the past three days. Every single person involved in irregularities has been arrested and sent to jail.”Addressing an Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) Mahasammelan organised by BJP to felicitate newly elected party MLCs, Samrat accused RJD and Congress of exploiting EBCs and assured them of protection under his leadership. He said he would shield the state’s 36% EBC population “like a bodyguard”.Claiming that EBCs and OBCs together constitute nearly 60% of Bihar’s population, Samrat said they would not allow RJD to return to power. Targeting RJD president Lalu Prasad, he said, “Lalu needs a bungalow for each member of his family. Around 150 police personnel remain deployed outside their residence. They already have bulletproof vehicles and police personnel deployed according to their needs. They have a large house in Mahuabag and a residence in Kautilya Nagar formed by combining five bungalows. They have another house in Raja Bazar and have also occupied properties in Gopalganj and Delhi. How many more bungalows do they need?”Samrat said law and order and education remained his govt’s top priorities. “Lakhs of state’s children travel to other states for education. New degree colleges and model schools would be opened in the state. The goal is to improve the govt school system to such an extent that even the district magistrate of Patna would feel proud to enrol their children in a government school,” he said.
