Nagpur: Commissioner of police Ravinder Singal on Thursday chaired a coordination meeting with senior officers of the State Excise Department and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to prevent incidents involving spurious liquor and ensure better inter-departmental action in the city.Instructions were given to form joint teams for swift action against illicit liquor production, transportation, and manufacturing units. Emphasis was laid on expeditious investigation and conviction in liquor cases. The meeting, held at Police Bhawan Conference Hall, Civil Lines, was attended by Joint Commissioner of police Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP Vasant Pardeshi, Joint commissioner FDA Krishna Jaipurkar, divisional deputy commissioner (excise) Ganesh Patil, superintendent (excise) Surajkumar Ramod, Vaibhav Vaidya, and other senior police and excise officials. CP Singal issued directions for temporary suspension of licenses of erring liquor shops and beer bars, with main focus on methanol-mixed alcohol.
