To get a clarity on how to decorate rented home, Dinesh Chandra Pandey, founder of Shankar Fenestrations & Glasses, shared some easy decor hacks which are easily doable, He too reiterated that the main goal is to choose decor styles which are removable, movable and easy to update.
“First of all, you generally cannot create holes in walls, you cannot paint the walls, and you cannot make any changes whatsoever. That is why decorating becomes a challenging task for many people. Nevertheless, if one uses their imagination, decorating can be done in compliance with the rental terms,” Pandey mentioned some of the ground rules renters have to work around. But these restrictions do not act as a roadblock for your aesthetic need as with a few clever, non-permanent style you can still make your place yours.
Here are six easy methods:
1. Peel-and-stick wallpapers
- Use removable wallpaper as it is one of the simplest methods of changing the decor of any given room.
- No damage is done to the wall surface as they can be easily removed.
- Peel-and-stick wallpapers come in abundance of patterned choices available like like textures, floral prints, geometric designs, tropical motifs, faux brick, marble-effect surfaces and so on.
- Best space to use this is for an accent wall in a living room or bedroom.
2. Statement rugs
- Rugs improve the look of your room by giving you extra color, warmth, and texture.
- They can also mark the division between areas in either a studio or an open-concept apartment.
- Consider using multiple rugs at different sizes and/or textures if you want a ‘designer’ look.
3. Wall art and gallery displays (no nails needed)
- Using adhesive hooks and strips to hang pictures, artwork, and prints offers a way to hang them without any use of a drill and gives additional character to the gallery wall you created.
- A gallery wall that is curated properly will help to develop a sense of home and develop the character of the room in which they are located.
- Suggestions include combining different types of products, such as abstract art, photography, cultural art, etc., to add a new level of interest to the gallery wall.
