Times News NetworkBokaro: Two minor girls were rescued, and three persons were arrested as the police uncovered a sex racket in Giridih district on Wednesday. One of the three arrested was a woman, the police said on Thursday.Giridih superintendent of police Bimal Kumar said a special investigation team, which was constituted based on a tip-off, raided a rented accommodation in the Bodo area under Pachamba police station limits. The SP further said the mastermind behind the racket, identified as Kranti Devi was holding the minors captive, subjecting them to physical assault and coercing them into sex trade under duress.After their rescue, the minors, who were in a state of trauma, narrated their ordeal to the police. Based on their statements, an FIR was registered against one named suspect and four unidentified individuals under relevant sections of Pocso Act and the BNS.Subsequent raids led to the arrest of two more co-conspirators, identified as Mohammad Taufiq Ansari and Musharraf Ansari. Law enforcement officials also seized a four-wheel vehicle used in the commission of the crime. “Further investigation is underway to track down other network linkages,” said SP.
