Patna: Governor-cum-chancellor Ata Hasnain on Monday asked the vice-chancellor of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) to make necessary arrangements for introducing job-oriented foreign language courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students in view of their growing demand and employment potential. He also asked the university to ensure timely completion of all academic courses in the interest of students.Reviewing the academic, financial and administrative activities of the university at Lok Bhawan here, the chancellor said there was increasing demand for foreign languages such as French, German and Spanish in national and international job markets. He said well-structured courses in these languages should be introduced in the university.Hasnain also said university students, including girls, should be encouraged to serve as officers in the Indian Army after completing their studies.The chancellor appreciated the university’s implementation of the Samarth portal and noted that LNMU had already implemented 10 essential modules of the portal.The review meeting was attended by governor’s principal secretary Deepak Kumar Singh, LNMU vice-chancellor Sanjay Kumar Chouhary and higher education director N K Arawal.
