Prayagraj: Aishwarya Auti from Pune, Maharashtra, and Krishika Mehta from Sangrur, Punjab, both third-year BTech students in information technology at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIITA), have been selected for the prestigious fully funded Erasmus+ Student Mobility Programme at the University of Ostrava (UO), Czech Republic.Erasmus+ is the European Union’s flagship programme supporting education, training, youth, and sport. It provides fully funded scholarships and grants for students, professionals, and institutions worldwide to study, intern, or teach abroad while gaining international degrees and professional experience.The Erasmus+ programme is being implemented under the academic collaboration framework established through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between IIITA and the University of Ostrava. As part of the programme, the selected students will undertake a five-month, semester-long academic exchange with full credit transfer at the host university. The students were selected on the basis of their outstanding academic performance and excellence in the selection examinations conducted for the programme.The Erasmus+ mobility programme is fully funded and provides financial support of 850 euros per month towards living expenses, along with 1,188 euros as travel assistance.During their stay at the University of Ostrava, the students will pursue interdisciplinary and emerging-area subjects such as teaching students gifted in science and mathematics, virtual reality, 3D modeling, and other advanced technology-oriented courses aimed at enhancing global academic and research exposure.Congratulating the students on their achievement, Professor Mukul S Sutaone, Director of IIITA, expressed confidence that the programme would strengthen academic cooperation between IIITA and the University of Ostrava while motivating more students to participate in international academic exchange programmes in the future.
