Jaisalmer: State-owned energy major Oil India Limited (OIL) has announced the discovery of significant gas reserves in the Dandewala onshore oil and gas fields of Jaisalmer district, reports Vimal Bhatia.OIL said average gas inflow from the find was recorded at an encouraging 25,000 standard cubic metres per day (SCMD) from a depth of approximately 950 metres. The discovery not only marks an important milestone in the state’s hydrocarbon sector but also solidifies the status of western Rajasthan as a strategic energy hub of immense potential.Confirming the development Saturday with a post on X, Union petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri emphasised its importance in bolstering domestic energy production and reducing reliance on imported fuel resources.
