Mumbai: MedGenome has acquired a majority stake in Mumbai-based imaging network Siddhi Diagnostics & Research Centre (SDRC), combining its genomics and multi-omics capabilities with SDRC’s three decades of diagnostic imaging expertise to expand access to integrated diagnostic services across Western India.
Founded in 1995, SDRC is led by Ajit Pungavkar and Sona Pungavkar. The network operates five centres across Nalasopara (East and West), Vasai, Virar and Thane, offering services including MRI, CT, X-ray, sonography, mammography and cardiac investigations. The promoters will continue to lead operations.
Surajit Chakrabartty, CFO, MedGenome, said the partnership aims to combine structural insights from imaging with molecular insights from genomics to support earlier and more precise clinical decisions, while strengthening access to advanced diagnostics in high-growth suburban markets around Mumbai.
Dr Pungavkar said, “In clinical practice, we often see cases where imaging alone does not provide the full picture, especially in complex or early-stage conditions. Through this partnership, we are now able to complement imaging findings with deeper molecular insights, which can significantly improve how clinicians interpret and act on diagnostic information. This brings a meaningful shift in how diagnostics are used—not just in identifying disease, but in guiding more precise and timely treatment decisions.”
Dr Sona added, “As diagnostics continues to evolve, the ability to integrate different layers of information becomes increasingly important. With the advancements in AI, today we are able to analyse the results of every evaluation holistically. Over time, this approach will help make advanced diagnostics more seamlessly integrated into routine care, improving both accessibility and the overall quality of clinical decision-making.”
