Gurgaon: Haryana govt on Saturday carried out a major reshuffle of top police officers, appointing 1999-batch IPS officer Sibash Kabiraj as the new city police commissioner, replacing 1998-batch officer Vikas Arora, who has been posted as ADGP (administration) at the police headquarters in Panchkula.Kabiraj (51), who was serving as Panchkula police commissioner with additional charge of ADGP (cyber and state crime branch headquarters director), is likely to join on Tuesday. Originally from Bihar, he was conferred the President’s Police Medal last year and promoted to the rank of ADGP in December. He has served multiple roles across Haryana and Chandigarh, including joint commissioner in the city and IGP, Ambala Range.After his posting as regional passport officer in Chandigarh in 2023, he worked on cutting passport processing times and constituted a special task force for women — particularly young brides — abandoned by husbands who returned to India from abroad, working to get such passports cancelled.The reshuffle also brought changes in Gurgaon-linked postings. Senior IPS officer Charu Bali, a 1995-batch officer, who was serving as ADGP (recruit training centre or RTC) Bhondsi with additional charge of Bhondsi Police Complex and State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB) headquarters in Panchkula, has been posted as ADGP, Bhondsi Police Complex.Dr Matta Ravi Kiran, ADGP (Karnal Range), has been posted as ADGP, SV&ACB, relieving Bali of that additional charge.Naazneen Bhasin, IG (South Range Rewari), who also held additional charge of IGP (RTC) Bhondsi, has been given dual charge as IGP (Haryana Armed Police), Madhuban, and IGP (RTC), Bhondsi. Among other Gurgaon-related postings, 2021-batch IPS officer Aditi Singh, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed SP, SV&ACB, replacing Poonam, HPS.
