Mangaluru: A construction worker from Bihar died on the spot after being run over by a road roller in Uppinangady on Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway on Saturday. The deceased was Ramachandra Shikari, 56. According to police, the accident took place near Aditya Hotel at Gandhi Park in Uppinangady when a road roller was allegedly driven negligently by the accused driver, identified as SK Kajal. The victim was working at the road construction site when the road roller ran over him, resulting in his death at the spot. A case was registered at Puttur traffic police under sections 281 and 106(1) of the BNS.
